SPD alarmed at rise in heroin overdoses reminds public about 'Good Samaritan Law'

Alarmed by the number of heroin overdoses they're seeing, Seattle police are reminding the public about a Washington state law designed to curb overdose deaths.

Detective Drew Fowler said Monday on the police website that the so-called "Good Samaritan Law" offers legal protection against drug-possession charges to those who call 911 to report an overdose.
